Dualchas Architects

Dualchas Architects is a Scottish architecture practice established in 1996, with studios on the Isle of Skye and in Glasgow. The practice says it designs and delivers homes, renovations, hospitality and development projects across Scotland and the UK, and describes itself as RIBA/RIAS award-winning. Its website groups the work under Homes, Community, Renovation, Hospitality, and Masterplanning and Housing.

The practice sets out its approach as starting with how a client wants to live, work or develop a business rather than arriving with a predetermined solution. It describes guiding clients through feasibility and planning, budget, technical design and construction, and states that sustainable, energy-efficient design is central to every project.

It also cites nearly 30 years of experience of difficult sites, planning and construction across Scotland. Dualchas was named Architectural Practice of the Year with a Gold Award at the Scottish Design Awards 2025, and its Highland Cinema project in Fort William was recognised as UK Cinema of the Year in 2023. The practice exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia in 2023.

Published projects include houses at Torrin, Diabeg, Boreraig, Ord Steading and Creag na Iolaire, the Highland Cinema in Fort William, and work on St Kilda. A members area lets registered users view drawings from previous projects.
