Mantle Landscape Architecture

Mantle Landscape Architecture is a San Francisco Bay Area studio located in Berkeley, California. The practice describes itself as a 100% Woman-Owned, registered California Small Business (SBE) and is led by Ramsey Silberberg. Its stated mission centres on being invested partners in the co-creation of inventive, ecologically sustainable landscapes that nurture thriving communities, and on the idea that design is as much about solving real problems as it is about envisioning a new future.

The studio presents three stated strengths. Artistry: Ramsey Silberberg brings 30 years of artistry to her designs through creative ideas, innovation with materials and meticulous execution. Technology: the team executes projects in BIM and has developed comprehensive Revit standards, templates and libraries intended to bridge the technology gap that often hinders collaboration between project teams.

Jurisdictional Approvals: the practice presents to jurisdictions and integrates local and regional goals into project design to facilitate approvals including entitlements and building permits. Declared areas of expertise include academic campuses, non-profit institutions, adaptive re-use of existing landscapes, urban parks and plazas, biotech and technology corporate campuses, multi-family housing, master planning and historic preservation of mid-century landscape.

The studio states that it specialises in commercial real estate, higher education campuses, research and medical facilities, multi-family housing, museums and cultural institutions, and public parks, trails and open space. Its portfolio is organised under the headings All, Work, Live, Learn, Gather and Heal, and the site references a project for the Carle Museum.
