Studio.e Architecture

Studio.e Architecture is an architecture firm based at 245 West Broadway in Eugene, Oregon. The firm describes itself as an architecture practice in the Pacific Northwest committed to making beautiful, smart and sustainable buildings, and states that its design team has fused innovative design with building science for more than twenty years.

Its stated aim is to deliver high-performance buildings through responsible construction practices and energy-efficient materials. The firm was founded in 2006 by Jan Fillinger, who is listed as Founding Principal and Director of Design. According to the firm's own account, he trained in Switzerland, moved to the United States at 22, earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and ran his own practice in Berkeley from 1986 to 1996 before relocating to Eugene in 1997.

He later co-founded SOLARC Architecture + Engineering in 2000 and founded Studio.e Architecture, PC in 2006. The published team also includes Teri Reifer as Director of Operations and Eli Nafziger as Architect and Project Manager. The firm reports work across the Pacific Northwest, with completed projects in Eugene, Springfield, Portland, Oakland, Corvallis, Medford and Florence.

Its published portfolio covers houses, multi-family and mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, accessory dwelling units, renovations and Passive House projects, and the firm states that this work includes more than a dozen net-zero and Passive House-certified projects. Studio.e also offers Passive House and sustainability consulting alongside its architectural design work.
