About Ten Eyck Landscape Architects

Ten Eyck Landscape Architects is an Austin-based landscape architecture studio led by founding principal Christine Ten Eyck, PLA, FASLA. The firm describes nearly three decades of practice focused on ecologically restorative outdoor spaces across Texas and the American Southwest. Its work ranges from private gardens and ranch landscapes to parks, campuses, hospitality destinations, cultural institutions and large public-realm projects.

The studio combines site planning, landscape architecture, planting design and water-conscious strategies, working with architects, engineers, ecologists, contractors and clients from early concept through implementation. The published portfolio provides unusually detailed evidence for comparing the practice. Austin residential projects such as Five Yard House, Bridle Path Residence and House on Taylor’s Branch document completed years, site sizes, project teams and specific responses to drainage, topography, existing trees and outdoor living.

Public work includes Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park, a 10.3-acre Austin project completed in 2021 with play areas, restored stream habitat, water management and preserved historic features. The firm also documents major Texas projects in San Antonio, Dallas, El Paso, Midland and other cities. Its design approach prioritizes native plants, rainwater harvesting, durable regional materials, habitat value and accessible community space rather than treating planting as decoration alone.
